Who Were Abraham and Sarah?
Abraham and Sarah were chosen by God to become the parents of a great nation through whom His covenant promises would be fulfilled. Originally known as Abram and Sarai, they left behind everything familiar to follow God's calling, trusting Him to lead them into an unknown future.
Although they deeply loved God and desired to obey Him, their journey was not without challenges. They experienced seasons of waiting, moments of fear, and times when they tried to fulfill God's promises in their own way.
Their story reminds us that faith isn't about never struggling, it's about continuing to trust God, even when His timing looks different from our own.
Their Story
God called Abraham to leave his homeland and promised that he and Sarah would become the parents of a great nation. Yet year after year passed without the child God had promised.
As they grew older, waiting became increasingly difficult. Sarah eventually suggested that Abraham have a child with her servant, Hagar, believing they needed to help God's promise come to pass. Although Ishmael was born, this decision created heartache and lasting family conflict.
Still, God remained faithful. At the appointed time, Sarah miraculously gave birth to Isaac in her old age, proving that God's promises are fulfilled according to His perfect timing, not ours.
Their journey is one of unwavering faith mixed with human weakness, ultimately revealing God's faithfulness through every season.
Their Strengths
1. They Answered God's Call Together
Leaving everything they knew required tremendous faith and courage. Abraham and Sarah stepped into the unknown, trusting God to guide their future.

On more than one occasion, Abraham allowed fear to influence his actions, even asking Sarah to identify herself as his sister to protect him (Genesis 12:10-20; Genesis 20:1-18).
